Krispy Kreme Celebrations is an online service that offers a variety of well-thought-out pre-packed doughnuts from the Krispy Kreme product range, styled to fit for any occasion. The page also serves as inspiration to customers on what can be achieved by showing the versatility on how the donuts can be displayed.

It was created as an innovative extension of the core Krispy Kreme products range/offering, by the eCommerce department. It opened Krispy Kreme’s unique opportunity to be situated between the quick service restaurant and the catering industry - Convenience with the added benefit of the elegance of a premium dessert. With all the logistics taken care of, the only thing left for the consumer to do is let their creative juices flow and come up with a cool fun doughnut display piece. 

This concept was to become a permanent online product, therefore it was integral for the branding to be classic in terms of longevity. With that in mind Celebrations brand identity was inspired from the classic Krispy Kreme bowtie logo, it draws elements from the original Krispy Kreme branding to retain a sense of familiarity and consistency. 

The secondary elements represent the party and excitement of the campaign which emphasises the liveliness and lightness of Celebrations branding as a whole.

The visuals produced by Prop - Co Op set the look and feel for the overall campaign - which determined the brand identity and style for Celebrations. For this reason it made sense for the branding to be light and simplistic to create a harmonious contrast between the images and branding.

I was responsible for creating the brand identity, incorporating the newly created Celebrations brand elements into all the digital and social media assets and ensuring all assets were ready for final output. As lead designer I was also able to assist in developing an exciting innovative project with the ecommerce team, sharing critical feedback and input. It was also the first major step towards entering the customisation category by Krispy Kreme AUNZ.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • This campaign reached one the of the highest open rates at 21.9% through the EMD’s.
